The Car... Again
Do You Know Who Is Big?
like any recently out of school photographer i look at photographer's work all the time. the internet search engines pull up all kinds of crap when you put in photographers. i have found it is a lot easier to go to the agency websites and look through photographers there. here are a few you can chack out stockland martel, art + commerce, radical media, and work book are just a few i enjoy, but there are a lot more out there. it is good to know the styles and people who are making it right now. it is just good business sense.
Hubble Space Photographs
i know it isn't traditional photography, but it is still photography. these pictures of space are beautiful and definently worth watching.

Chillaxin'
this week has sucked as far as location shooting is concerned. this is my favorite type of shooting and i try to get out a couple times a week to shoot for myself. that hasnt happened this week, and it seems my weekend has been more busy than the past week. i know boo hoo. i shot my dog while he was chillaxin on on the couch. i know not my usual subject matter, but i couldnt help it. his name is ziggy and he is named after ziggy marley.

35th Annual Turkey Run
it's kind of a family tradition to go to daytona beach, florida over thanksgiving and go to the turkey rod run. the event is only four days, but there wil be beautiful and unique traffic all week. i'm not sure if i will be able to make it this year, and that sucks. there are so many shooting opertunities at the run. very unique people and their very unique vehicles. it is a great place for photo j. this is a picture i took the last time i made it down there. it was a nice ride down there but i took the bike and the way back it got a little cold, but it was worth it.

Interview With Sarah Dillon
today i did an interview with sarah dillon. i asked her about school, work, and inspiration. you should check out the interview.
Black Book
the black book has been around longer than i have. back in the day photographers would pay to put their work into an anthology that was bought by many creative and art directors, as well as many other people a photographer needs to impress. some photographers still do it today but not as many. the have recently changed the format of the book. click the link to see the online version of the black book. there are a lot of neat photographs in it and you should check it out.
Vignette
i recently posted a question to brian hall asking how he does his vignetting. he responded and i used the lens correction technique to get this picture. i had to use the filter twice to get the vignette dark enough but i think it worked pretty good. let me know what you think.
Photo Set
i made a new set on flickr of the five pictures i have hanging at gwinnett tech. i am glad we finally got to hang our work because the previous work had been hanging for a year, and it is nice to have new stuff on the wall. Check out my flickr set hanging work.
Underwater Clouds
i ran across this video and really liked it. what he says about the water looking like clouds is pretty cool. the black and whites are pretty good. you should check out wayne levin''s site here.

For The Love of God Please!!!
Nov 9, 2008
i just got back today from a motorcycle trip to gatlinburg, tn. it was amazing to ride through the smoky mountains with all the leaves changing even though it was a little cold. i was really excited to be able to shoot the mountains with the beautiful colors and even saw another small group of elk, but left my cf cards at home. it's a bummer but this is a picture from the same area. this shot was taken this summer, but reworked recently.

Gone Baby Gone
my sister was leaving my house today and a snake slithered across the driveway and scared the hell out of her. in true ninja style (taught by mr. jones) i tracked the snake through the yard and then chopped its head off with a samurai sword i got from my room. i felt it was post worthy so here it is. the head is a little blurry because of motion blur. both parts of the snake kept moving for a while which was a little gross. (so what if it isnt big it's still a snake)

Brush Strokes
This is no way to run a railroad. Photographers and agencies were left reeling after technology provider Digital Railroad declared it was shutting down. Digital Railroad-powered Web sites were still functional mid-afternoon on October 28, but the main site had been replaced by a short announcement about the shutdown. The four-year-old company provided an e-commerce platform for scores of photography Web sites, and offered supposedly secure backup of image archives. click here for more article
