i just got back today from a motorcycle trip to gatlinburg, tn. it was amazing to ride through the smoky mountains with all the leaves changing even though it was a little cold. i was really excited to be able to shoot the mountains with the beautiful colors and even saw another small group of elk, but left my cf cards at home. it's a bummer but this is a picture from the same area. this shot was taken this summer, but reworked recently.

Gatlinburg is soooo overrated. T-shirt shops and pancakes houses. But the Smokies themselves are fantastic. Hells yeah!

Dude, I'm liking the photo man. Selective focus? I'm guessing not done with a tiltshift lens, only because the lenses are expensive as heck. But awesome, I like it because it's not just a standard landscape shot. Also looks like a Ansel Adams dodge too! haha.

Also, about that vignetting: Basically, I have three or four ways of doing it. All of it depends on what looks best. I first start by trying the RAW vignette mode, A lot of times it does a great job because it's never over the top. But if I want more or if it doesn't really do a good job, open into photoshop, go to filters, distort, and lens correction. It has a vignette mode and I try that. If that does not work, then I move to the manual mode or painting mode. You can do that two ways. Burn and Dodge or actually lower your opacity on your black brush and start painting it in. Now, most people would not suggest to do this, but I till you it works, and if you want to make sure it doesn't ruin the shot if you end up not liking it, just Apple J the main layer you want to vignette. Try them all, they all work at some point. I hope that helps man. If you have any other questions, I'll try to help if I can.
